About Brigantine’s ‘Neighborhoods’

Brigantine Neighborhoods

~Written by Tracy Rossini, Marketing Director, and Nancy Ferri, Realtor Associate, of RE/MAX Carrier

Brigantine is a beautiful barrier island, blessed with many different neighborhoods that are known to most local residents and Realtors.  Have you heard of the “A-zone” but weren’t sure which streets were included? Are you new to the Island and can’t tell where the North-end begins?  Below are the basics of what you need to know. No matter which neighborhood you live in or visit, because Brigantine is a barrier island surrounded by water, you are always very close to either the beach or the bay!

The “A-Zone”: This section near the middle of town is considered prime real estate, where Buyers often desire to purchase. The streets included in this area are sometimes disputed but are generally known to be 15th Street South to 30th Street, from the ocean to the bay. What makes it “Prime”? Mostly the zoning laws, which allow single-family homes only.  There are no commercial, condo or multi-family properties. Also, most streets have back alleyways (your trash/recycling bins don’t have to be moved on trash day), and you are just a few blocks at most to the beach. In the A-Zone you have the ballfields and playground and you are in walking distance to local restaurants, shopping, and other local businesses & professional offices. Oceanfront A-Zone homes sell for more money than most other local properties!

A-Zone Blocks:  Many people refer to the ‘Blocks’ in the A-Zone. The 400 block is ocean block, and is Ocean Ave up to and including oceanfront properties. The 300 block is beach-block, and is the ocean side of Brigantine Avenue to the bayside of Ocean Avenue. The 200 block is Revere Blvd to Bayside of Brigantine Avenue. The 100 block is by the bay, which is the ocean side of Bayshore Avenue to the bayside of Revere Blvd. From the bay to the bayside of Bayshore Avenue – addresses would be 1 to 99 including bay-front properties.

South-End: This is the fabulous and fun area you see to your right as you are driving on the bridge into Brigantine. It includes a desirable subdivision called “Seapointe” which is Ocean Drive and other nearby streets which are home to some spectacular, new properties with Inlet & AC skyline views. The south-end is known for its very popular and convenient drive-on beaches, The Cove and The Jetty! This area is also close to the ACME shopping center, the Community Center, miniature golf course, hockey & tennis courts, dog park & more!

North-End/Golf Course Area:  At the end of the Island, this area begins at Roosevelt Ave and goes north to 15th St N.  The ‘SeaWall’ is an oceanfront walkway at the very end of Brigantine Ave, and is a great place to stroll or relax and take in the ocean views!  The public golf course, ‘The Links’, is nestled on its own portion of the north end of the Island, giving many homes lovely views of the greens.  The Golf course area of town is home to Brigantine’s elementary and middle school and is very appealing to many families.  West, North and East Shore Drive surround the bay side of the golf course area and offer many nice bay-front homes with docks & boatslips.
